First Friday - Painting Tournament! [May 6th]

Artists immerse themselves in creativity during a painting workshop, each bringing a unique touch to their canvas.

🎨 Join Us for a Painting Tournament During First Friday! 🏆

We’re excited to announce our First Ever Painting Tournament happening during the First Friday Art Walk in Old Colorado City this May—and YOU are invited!

Whether you're a seasoned painter, a weekend doodler, or just in it for the vibes and snacks, this event is open to all painting levels and enthusiastic spectators. Come hang out, get creative, and cheer each other on in this lighthearted, fast-paced painting showdown.

🖌️ How It Works:

• What We Provide: We’ve got you covered with canvases, watercolor paper, and student-grade acrylic paint & brushes.

• Want to Use Your Own Supplies? BYOP (Bring Your Own Paint)! You’re welcome to use watercolor, acrylic, gouache, pastels, or oils.

• What Will You Paint? Everyone will paint the same subject, based on a surprise reference drawn from a hat at the time of the event. Expect to see a ton of fun and unique interpretations!

• Time Limit: Each round gives you 30 minutes to paint.

• Competition Format:

  • Two preliminary rounds

  • Top painters advance to a championship round

• How Winners Are Chosen: Artists will vote—by silent ballot—on their favorite piece by another painter. The painting with the most votes wins!

• Prizes: Oh yes, there will be prizes 🎁 (and bragging rights, of course).

  
  

💵 Cost:

$10 — Includes all materials, refreshments, and prize support.
